Bouncing beneath the glow of shapeshifting water graphics, Future and Metro — along with featured artist Travis Scott — absorbed all the kinetic energy of the festival as they let loose bars from “Type Sh*t.” That moment was part of a 36-song set Future and Metro delivered to fans. The duo was also joined by Don Toliver for “Too Many Nights” and Quavo, who belted out “Turn Yo Clique Up” featuring Future.
After “We Don’t Trust You” drops March 22, their second LP will quickly follow on April 12. These projects are a culmination of a partnership that began when Metro was only 17 years old. Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborations date back to 2013’s “Karate Chop,” and continued with tracks like 2015's “Jumpman” (with Drake) and 2017’s “Mask Off.” The aforementioned singles have been collectively certified 14-times Platinum by the RIAA. Metro even turned a Future bar into an unmistakable producer tag: “If Young Metro don’t trust you I’m gon’ shoot you.” Most recently, the two connected on Metro’s 2022 album, Heroes & Villains, which featured Future on tracks like “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” and “Too Many Nights” with Don Toliver.
On March 22 will mark a new chapter of their alliance with the arrival of the fittingly titled We Don't Trust You. And on April 12, Future and Metro do it again.
