ST. LOUIS — A lockdown was lifted at a St. Louis-area elementary school Thursday afternoon.
Townsend Elementary School was locked down because of an incident unconnected to the school. The lockdown was lifted at 2:41 p.m.
St. Louis County Police said a person with a weapon was suspected of being near the school.
Students and staff were safe, police said.
