17-year-old found dead in Jennings field, police say

Police believe this is an ongoing homicide investigation.

JENNINGS, Mo. — Police are investigating after a body was found in the Jennings area early Saturday morning. 

St. Louis County officers saw a man in a field near Apricot Avenue and Emma Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

The officers noticed the unidentified person was not moving at the time.

St. Louis County Police Department Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating this as a homicide.  

The victim was identified Tuesday morning as 17-year-old Jaimarcus McDaniel of East St. Louis, and investigation revealed he had suffered from gunshot injuries.
