ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating after vandals struck at two locations on Washington Avenue Monday morning.
The incidents happened at around 6:30 a.m.
The first incident involved a U.S. Bank ATM at 1300 Washington Ave. Police believe the person responsible damaged the machine and then took off. They did not say whether anything was stolen.
About 11 minutes later, a glass door at the Roberts Galerie building was smashed in. Police said the suspect broke the glass door of the STL Food Mart, which is in the building, walked in and stole the cash register.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department had the areas taped off while officers investigated. Police did not say whether anything was stolen.
