ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A vehicular fire caused traffic backup along northbound and southbound Interstate 270 early Monday morning.
Just before 7 a.m., a car fire was reported along southbound I-270 near Ladue Road in St. Louis County. The car, which sat in the two far left lanes as it was engulfed in flames, shut down traffic while first responders put out the fire and treated the occupant.
That occupant was able to escape the car but was later seen being transported to a hospital in an ambulance.
Additionally, two left lanes along northbound I-270 were also closed in the aftermath of the accident. Those lanes have since re-opened in both directions.
