Family, friends hold vigil for 15-year-old boy killed after crashing into south St. Louis building, another injured

"We are all in shock. We all loved Brian," said Arrlet Delcid, the aunt of Allan Osorto.

The startling phone call gave Arrlet Delcid chills.

"It was 12 o'clock in the morning when my sister called me crying and the police officer he knocked on the front door," recalled Delcid.

The officer had terrible news about her nephew, 16-year-old Allan Osorto and his 15-year-old friend, Brian Corona-Madrigal.

"He told us they're heading to the hospital because they had an accident," she said.

"I couldn't believe it," said witness, Edwin Sosa.

Sosa and other witnesses told police shortly before eleven Wednesday night Corona-Madrigal sped down Gravois near Neosho in an Infiniti when he almost hit an Uber driver's car.

"The car was pulling out. He turned not to hit the car, so he swerved over, lost control and then hit the hydrant and flipped," said Edwin Sosa.

Police say Corona-Madrigal knocked down several street signs and then crashed into a vacant building.

"I ran outside, saw it and called 911. I have a neighbor who said when it happened her apartment shook," said neighbor, Crystal Jackson.

Brian Corona-Madrigal died.

"I ran over there and saw his passenger jumped out of the window you know still in shock," said Edwin Sosa, who works across the street.

"He got a broken arm, but right now we're trying to cheer him up," said Arrlet Delcid.

Delcid says Corona-Madrigal was "driving his car and taking my nephew home" at the time of the crash.

She says both boys lived just blocks away and both were 10th graders at Gateway Stem High School.

"They were more than best friends. They were like brothers. We all knew each other," said Arrlet Delcid.

Hours after the crash, dozens of their hurting family and friends gathered at the scene, to comfort each other and released balloons for the teen gone too soon.

"I feel bad for him," said Edwin Sosa.

"We just want to show him much we love him and how much we care about him," said Arrlet Delcid.

Delcid says her nephew was treated and released from the hospital and attended Thursday night's vigil.

She also says Brian Corona-Madrigal lived in South City with his older siblings.

She tells 5 On Your Side their parents live in Mexico.
