ST. LOUIS — If you were on Delmar Boulevard Thursday, you may have noticed a swarm of police cars and a line of officers facing off with protesters at a gas station.
It's the third day of protests at this BP on the corner of Delmar and Goodfellow.
They are upset over a video recorded on Tuesday. The video shows a worker telling Kelli Adams to leave the store, and it quickly turned into a shouting match.
That's when the worker kicked Adams, and that's not the end. Another worker kicks her again later.
Protesters were at the store Tuesday night. They parked cars at the pumps and protested outside the store, forcing the store to close.
Both workers, Ahmed Qandeel and Jehad Motan, were charged with misdemeanor assault Wednesday, but protesters were not satisfied. They returned Wednesday, and the business closed again.
Police said a man hired as security for the business sprayed mace at a man who approached the store at around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. The incident is being investigated as a third-degree assault.
Overnight, someone broke into and ransacked the Gas Mart store and started a fire that damaged a car. Police have no suspects.
Protesters returned Thursday and had a standoff with police before dispersing.
