ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis Super Bowl champion is reminding us it’s time once again for Warners’ Warmup.
Former Rams Quarterback Kurt Warner won the Superbowl, the “Greatest Show on Turf,” in 2000. Shortly thereafter, Warner and his wife, Brenda, founded Warners’ Warmup.
Warner said in the 24 years since then, that organization has collected and distributed 300,000 coats to cold kids in need. They are now accepting donations of new or gently used coats at any one of 128 drop boxes in the St. Louis area. Warners’ Warmup collects coats from Oct. 21-Nov. 3.
Warner told 5 On Your Side they are teaming-up with Operation Food Search and others in this gesture to keep kids warm.
“At places like Look After Hair, Lions Choice, credit unions, police stations, I mean, we have more than 100 drop off locations all over the place. So, there's one close to really anybody in this area,” said Warner. “And Operation Food Search does a great job of taking the donated items, separating them, and distributing them to the different organizations and shelters that we work with.”
