BRIDGETON, Mo. — Ambulances were temporarily diverted from SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton late Monday afternoon after a water main break on the hospital's campus.
A hospital spokesperson said that administrators activated an internal emergency operations plan to avoid any possible delays in patient care.
Shortly after midnight Tuesday, the hospital announced water had been restored and it was again fully operational.
Emergency response personnel and services with the hospital were redirected to other nearby facilities.
The hospital treats patients across the St. Louis metropolitan area but predominantly serves north St. Louis County.
