Where are the 5 oldest STL churches?

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Renovations are currently underway at the Old Cathedral.

The church was built in 1831, while it's the oldest church in the City of St. Louis, it's not the oldest in the area.

Here are the five oldest church buildings* still standing in the St. Louis metropolitan area, according to the Missouri History Museum:

Parts of the church built in 1821. The bell tower and steeple were added in 1883.

Built in 1799

*The Missouri History Museum said there are older church congregations in The St. Louis metropolitan area than some of the ones listed above, but the church building is no longer standing or one was built at a later date.
