ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Woodson Terrace police said a St. Louis woman got angry the Saturday after Thanksgiving when her stepfather told her to leave his St. Louis County home leading to criminal charges.
According to a written release from the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, 33-year-old Nicole Mullins was charged with armed criminal action and second-degree assault after allegedly attacking her stepfather.
According to a Woodson Terrace police investigation cited in the release, Mullins pushed her stepfather onto a bed and started punching him. Her stepfather tried to call 911, but Mullins took his phone and used it as a weapon to beat his head, the release said.
The man ran to the kitchen to try to get away, but police said Mullins picked up a silver cooking pot and used it to strike the victim's head several times.
A neighbor realized the man was in distress and called 911.
First responders found the victim with cuts to the face and covered in blood. Investigators found blood on the ground, the balcony and the porch.
Mullins' bond was set at $75,000, cash only.
Second-degree assault is a class D felony, the release said. The sentence for class D felonies ranges from a day to a year in jail and up to seven years in prison. A $10,000 fine is also possible. Armed criminal action can be punishable by a sentence that ranges from three to 15 years in prison, which would be served after any punishment for the crime committed using the deadly weapon.
