BELLEVILLE, Ill. – A Belleville woman has been charged after a 23-month-old was scalded by hot water at a daycare Monday.
Police were called to Kolor Wheel around 9:45 p.m. for a report of a scalding. Officers said the toddler was immersed in a bathtub of hot water.
The child has been transferred to an out of state hospital to receive treatment for the burns.
Police charged Shiquetta Williams, 36, with reckless conduct causing great bodily harm. Williams' bond was set at $500,000.
