DITTMER, Mo. — A woman drowned on Sunday at a Jefferson County summer camp for people with developmental disabilities, authorities said.
A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said emergency crews responded to Sunnyhill at 6555 Sunlit Way in Dittmer, where they found 44-year-old Martha Boland unresponsive in a pool.
Authorities said a lifeguard attempted lifesaving measures but was unsuccessful, and Boland was pronounced dead at 4:22 p.m. by paramedics.
The sheriff's office said foul play is not suspected and it doesn't appear anything criminal took place.
An email sent after hours to Sunnyhill was not immediately returned.
The investigation is ongoing.
