ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis County woman who admitted shooting at students as they were being dismissed from Confluence Preparatory Academy in 2022 has agreed to a plea arrangement with St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office, a written statement from the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court said Friday morning.
Cierra M. Wealleans, 21, pleaded guilty Thursday to two charges of second-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Wealleans was originally charged with multiple counts of first-degree assault. Despite there being surveillance footage of the incident, prosecutors and Circuit Judge Madeline O. Connolly agreed to lesser charges as part of a plea agreement.
According to a police source, Weallean confronted three teenage girls, ages 17, 16 and 14 years old.
As a school security guard was escorting Weallean back onto the sidewalk, she pulled out a gun and shot at the three girls, but none of the girls were shot.
Weallean's gun fired another shot toward school buses as she was tackled by the school principal and a school security guard, the release said. Security detained her until the police took her away.
The school was temporarily placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution. The shooting stemmed from a prior argument.
