COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Baseball junior outfielder Kameron Misner and junior left-handed pitcher TJ Sikkema were each selected Monday night in Day 1 of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Misner was chosen 35th overall by the Miami Marlins, while Sikkema was selected 38th overall by the New York Yankees.

Misner provides excellent size and speed while Sikkema finished with an impressive 1.32 ERA for Missouri in 2019.

These selections made Tiger history as two teammates have never been selected so high in the same draft.

Only two other college teams (California and Baylor) had two players taken together higher than Mizzou.

Under head coach Steve Bieser, 13 Tigers have now been selected in the annual MLB Draft over his three-year tenure (2017-present).

Historically, Mizzou has now secured at least one player selected in the MLB Draft in each of the past 24 years (1996-present).
