AP source: RB Arian Foster to meet Tuesday with Dolphins

MIAMI (AP) — Running backs have proved elusive this offseason for the Miami Dolphins, who are now pursuing free agent Arian Foster.

A person familiar with the situation said Foster has agreed to meet Tuesday with the Dolphins, who have had trouble finding a replacement for Lamar Miller.

The person confirmed the visit to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the Dolphins have not commented on the upcoming meeting.

Foster is recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon and has said he plans to play this season. He made the Pro Bowl four times in seven years with the Houston Texans, who released him this month after he missed 12 games last season because of injuries.

Miller subsequently signed with the Texans, and the Dolphins need a replacement to complement second-year running back Jay Ajayi. Former NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson visited Miami but decided to stay with Arizona, and after the Dolphins signed C.J. Anderson to an offer sheet, Denver matched.

Foster rushed for a franchise-record 6,472 yards with the Texans and added 2,268 yards on receptions.
