TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police responding to reports of a student with a gun say they have taken a 14-year-old boy into custody after isolating him inside a Toledo high school.

Scott High School was locked down Monday morning and SWAT team officers were called in.

Toledo police spokesman Lt. Mark King says the student had a pellet gun that looked like a handgun. He was taken into custody after officers fired a bean bag round at his feet.

No other shots were fired and no one was hurt. Negotiators talked to the boy during a short standoff, but officials say he didn't give a reason for bringing the gun to school.

Police got the call at about 9:30 a.m. There were no details about the boy's movements at the school before the standoff.
