Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer will not seek re-election in Missouri's 3rd District

He is currently serving his sixth term in office representing Missouri's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House.

MISSOURI, USA — Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer announced Thursday that he will not seek re-election and plans to retire at the end of December 2024. 

The announcement from Luetkemeyer was made on X, formerly known as Twitter. He said he would not file for re-election after discussions with his family. 

Luetkemeyer currently serving his sixth term in office representing Missouri's 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House. Missouri's 3rd Congressional District consists of all or part of the following counties: Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Jefferson, Maries, Miller, Montgomery, Moniteau, Osage, St. Charles, Warren, and Washington. He has served eight terms overall in Congress. 

He previously represented Missouri's 9th District in the U.S. House and served on the Missouri House of Representatives. He is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions and the House Committee on Small Business.

Before the U.S. House, he served as Missouri's tourism director. He is from Jefferson City and operates a farm.
