ST. LOUIS — Polls closed at 7 p.m. in Missouri and Illinois for the Nov. 5 election.

Aside from the presidential election, dozens of key local races are being decided. Missouri will decide on its next governor and several other state offices, a U.S. Senate seat and an abortion rights amendment. In Illinois, voters are weighing in on three congressional district seats and three state ballot questions.

We'll be giving a live play-by-play throughout the night as the votes are tallied.

On 5+, we’ll stream live analysis, election results, a look at how your county voted and live coverage of victory and concession speeches. Here's how you can watch.

10:27 p.m.: Amendment 3 passes

  • Missouri voters approved a measure that enshrines abortion rights in the state constitution and replaces a near-total ban on the procedure. The measure guarantees a person’s right to get an abortion and make other reproductive health decisions. It opens the door to legal challenges of a ban on most abortions that took effect immediately after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. The measure made the ballot after an intense legal fight led by anti-abortion advocates who sought to prevent a vote.

10:21 p.m.

  • Republican Rep. Ann Wagner won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Missouri on Tuesday. Wagner captured her seventh term in the 2nd District in suburban St. Louis by defeating Democrat Ray Hartmann. Wagner served as chair of the Missouri Republican Party, co-chair of the Republican National Committee and ambassador to Luxembourg before her election to Congress. Hartmann founded the Riverfront Times alternative weekly newspaper. After Wagner had relatively close races in 2018 and 2020, the GOP-controlled Missouri General Assembly redrew district lines in 2022 to make it more Republican.

9:55 p.m.

  • Republican Bob Onder won election to a U.S. House seat representing Missouri on Tuesday. Onder captured his first term in the 3rd District, which covers central and east-central Missouri, by defeating Democrat Bethany Mann. Onder is a doctor who served two years in the Missouri House and eight years in the Missouri Senate before his election to Congress in 2022.

9:30 p.m. Hawley wins reelection

  • Republican Sen. Josh Hawley won a second U.S. Senate term representing Missouri on Tuesday. Hawley beat Democrat Lucas Kunce, a lawyer who served 13 years in the Marine Corps. Much of the race focused on Hawley's conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, when he defiantly raised his fist to supporters of then-President Donald Trump outside the U.S. Capitol. Abortion rights also were a top issue as Missouri voters considered a measure that would guarantee those rights.

8:51 p.m. Trump wins Missouri

  • Republican Donald Trump won the reliably conservative state of Missouri on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Kamala Harris. Missouri voters overwhelmingly favored Trump over Democrats in the 2016 and 2020 elections, and he was favored to win again this year. In the past decade, the GOP has become increasingly dominant in Missouri, and Republicans now hold all statewide political offices. Republicans also hold large majorities in both legislative chambers.

8:49 p.m. Kehoe wins election for governor in Missouri

  • Republican Mike Kehoe defeated Democrat Crystal Quade to win the Missouri governor's race on Tuesday. Kehoe is Missouri's lieutenant governor. Quade is the state House minority leader. Kehoe will succeed GOP Gov. Mike Parson, who was barred by term limits from seeking reelection. Kehoe was favored to win the heavily Republican state, but Quade and other Democrats had hoped to get an edge this year with an abortion rights amendment on the ballot. Kehoe opposes the amendment. Parson handpicked Kehoe to be second in command in 2018, when Parson left his seat as lieutenant governor to become governor.

8:37 p.m. Bost wins reelection

  • Republican Rep. Mike Bost won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Illinois on Tuesday. Bost, a former Illinois state legislator, won a sixth term. He survived a spirited primary in March with a challenge from former state Sen. Darren Bailey, the 2022 GOP nominee for Illinois governor. Former President Donald Trump endorsed Bost over Bailey. The sprawling Republican district encompasses nearly the bottom one-third of Illinois.

8:24 p.m.: Democrat Wesley Bell wins election to U.S. House in Missouri's 1st Congressional District

  • Democrat Wesley Bell won election to a U.S. House seat representing Missouri on Tuesday. Bell defeated Republican Andrew Jones in the Democratic-leaning 1st District, which covers St. Louis city and part of St. Louis County. Bell is the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney and defeated Democratic incumbent Cori Bush in the August primary. Bell's primary victory came after a pro-Israel super PAC spent $8.5 million to defeat Bush over her criticism of Israel’s response to the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack.

8:05 p.m.

  • Democratic St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell has a huge lead in Missouri's First Congressional District, taking 77% of the vote so far in the heavily blue district.

7:51 p.m.

  • With just 1% of the vote reporting, Republican Mike Kehoe has a big lead over Democrat Crystal Quade in the Missouri governor race. Kehoe currently has 59% of the vote to Quade's 40%.

7:45 p.m.:

  • 51,000 votes have been counted so far for Missouri's Amendment 3. The tally currently sits at 55.72% yes vs. 44.28% no. The race is still too early to call.

7:39 p.m.: Harris wins Illinois

Vice President Kamala Harris won Illinois on Tuesday, claiming the state's 19 electoral votes for Democrats. The reliably blue state, the home of former President Barack Obama, has supported Democratic presidential candidates since 1992. The Associated Press declared Harris the winner at 7:38 p.m.

7:35 p.m.

Very early preliminary results for Missouri's U.S. Senate race show Republican Sen. Josh Hawley with 50% of the vote to Democratic challenger Lucas Kunce's 48.4% in Lincoln County. Kunce has 54.6% of the vote so far in Jackson County to Hawley's 43.9%.

7:20 p.m.

  • Supporters are filing in at watch parties for both sides of the Missouri governors race. In Mike Kehoe's camp, more than 100 optimistic supporters had gathered, with the Republican lieutenant governor expected to make his appearance within the hour. Supporters were also trickling in to the watch party for Missouri House Minority Leader Crystal Quade, hoping for a blue upset in the Republican-controlled state.

7 p.m.
