Since long lines are expected on Election Day, experts suggest considering early voting options and knowing what's on your ballot before you show up.

ST. LOUIS — No-excuse absentee voting begins in Missouri on Tuesday, Oct. 22, for this year's election.

Voters can go to the polls in the two weeks before election day, and they will find the same requirements as day-of voters. Voters will be required to show one of these forms of identification and sign the poll book to obtain a ballot:

  • A nonexpired Missouri driver or non-driver license;
  • A nonexpired military ID, including a veteran’s ID card;
  • A nonexpired United States passport; or
  • Another photo ID issued by the United States or the state of Missouri which is either not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election.

If you do not bring one of those forms of ID, you will be allowed to cast a provisional ballot. If you cast a provisional ballot, you will receive a stub from your provisional ballot envelope with instructions on how to verify that your provisional ballot is counted.
