ST. LOUIS — People voted in the 2024 Missouri primary election Tuesday, and Missouri's 3rd Congressional District was a wide-open race. U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer announced he would not run again in the district that includes parts of Columbia, Missouri; Jefferson City, Missouri; snakes through St. Charles County; and curls around District 2 to Jefferson County to the south.

In the heavily Republican district, Bob Onder of St. Charles is projected to win the GOP nomination, the Associated Press reports. Former State Sen. Kurt Schaefer of Columbia and State Rep. Justin Hicks of Lake St. Louis were the other two candidates in the GOP primary race who organized significant campaigns.

On the Democratic side, the Associated Press is projecting Bethany E. Mann as the winner over Andrew Daly.
