ST. LOUIS — Three area cities had marijuana taxes on the ballot Tuesday.
Arnold, St. John and St. Charles asked voters to consider adding an additional 3% sales tax to recreational marijuana. Those sales taxes would be in addition to state and county taxes on adult-use recreational marijuana.
In St. John and St. Charles, the tax proposal is called Proposition M, and in Arnold, it is called Proposition 1.
Here's how the propositions fared with the initial vote count.
St. John Prop M: Passed
St. Charles Prop M: Passed
Arnold Prop 1: Passed
The stacking taxes are currently the subject of a legal battle.
