KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri Rep. Sam Graves (R) is being considered for a Trump cabinet position, according to the congressman on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Rep. Graves is the U.S. House representative for Missouri's 6th congressional district which spans over parts of northern Missouri, including Pike and Lincoln counties.
Rep. Graves confirmed Saturday night on X that he had talks with Trump's transition team about the role and said "it’s an honor to be considered."
Rep. Graves currently serves as chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which has jurisdiction over all modes of American transportation, wastewater infrastructure, the nation's emergency and response programs, public buildings, federal economic development agencies and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Rep. Graves was reelected this year, earning more than 70% of the vote. Runner-up Pam May (D) had around 27% of the vote.
Sen. Eric Schmitt (R) and Missouri AG Andrew Bailey (R) are reportedly also under consideration for Trump leadership roles.
