George P. Bush doesn’t know how his grandfather and uncle voted but he says they “potentially” could vote for Hillary Clinton.

The Texas Land Commissioner and son of former Florida governor Jeb Bush was speaking at an event in Texas Tuesday, according to The Dallas Morning News.

He said that he is backing Donald Trump but he was asked if George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush could have voted for the Democratic nominee. Neither of the former presidents or Jeb Bush have endorsed Trump.

"Potentially. But hard to speculate,” he said.

Later The Associated Press asked him to clarify. "I don't know how they voted. I'm speculating, to be honest,” he said.

In September, Politico and The Guardian reported on a Facebook post from Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend that said George H.W. Bush had told her he was voting for Clinton.

The Bush family has not confirmed or denied the reports.
