ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — St. Louis media personality Ray Hartmann said he'd file Friday to run against six-term incumbent Congresswoman Ann Wagner. Hartmann, who's running as a Democrat, on Thursday made his final appearance on KETC Channel 9's news debate show "Donnybrook."
"The 2024 election is really like none other in our lifetime," Hartmann said. "Reproductive freedom I think is on the ballot. I think I want to do my part, give my best effort to protect the rights that I think are endangered."
Hartmann, who lives in Richmond Heights but is moving to St. Charles County, said if elected he'd vote to codify the Roe v. Wade protections into federal law after the U.S. Supreme Court last year returned the abortion issue to the states. Abortion is illegal in Missouri.
