ST. LOUIS — St. Louis attorney Will Scharf was appointed Saturday as White House staff secretary by President-elect Donald Trump. He also will serve as an assistant to the president.
Scharf, who unsuccessfully ran to unseat Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey in the Republican primary this year, was one of Trump's personal attorneys in his federal election interference case and Supreme Court immunity case. He also played a part in getting confirmation for Trump's Supreme Court nominees Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett,. Politico reports.
“Will is a highly skilled attorney who will be a crucial part of my White House team,” Trump said Saturday in a statement.
