ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — In this part of the county near the Mississippi River it takes a boat to get where roads used to go.
The flood water has pushed people out of their homes and businesses here, like Richard Luttrell.
He and his wife Toni own Boathouse Food and Deck. The water has had them closed since March and now they are worried what damage the water could do to their building.
"We're hoping that we can have some type of functioning business by Fourth of July," said Richard.
But the river has to stop rising first and it is expected to crest another four feet higher than it is now.
Flood water has stretches of Highway V in this part of St. Charles County closed and valuables have the highway down to one lane in other spots.
People are moving boats, cars, motor homes, and even storage pods to what little high ground is left here.
