St. Louis soccer dominates once again

ST. LOUIS — Head Coach Jill Ellis has announced the 23 players who will represent the United States in the World Cup on Thursday afternoon. 

St. Louisan Becky Sauerbrunn has made the USA Women’s World Cup roster where they will compete in France over the summer.

There are 11 players on the roster who have never played in the World Cup while including several key veterans like Sauerbrunn. 

Sauerbrunn posted her thoughts on her Twitter about making the team this year. 

Sauerbrunn will be able to play in front of her hometown before the World Cup when the U.S. Women's National Team plays in St. Louis at Busch Stadium on Thursday, May 16.

The World Cup will begin June 7 but USA will not play until June 11.
