As sweet as the weather has been around St. Louis this Valentine's Day, most people probably won't love the changes coming tonight and tomorrow. That's right, a winter weather advisory and more snow.
A cold front is crossing the region Thursday evening. Behind the front, the winds shift and increase from the northwest. Temperatures will fall, and fall quickly. Starting at 9 a.m., much of the St. Louis Area will be under a winter weather advisory.
Overnight lows will dip into the lower 20s, and temperatures will stay in the mid to upper 20s through the afternoon Friday.
As moisture comes into the region Friday morning, snow showers will increase west of the St. Louis metro area. By midday, the chances for snow will increase in St. Louis, and snow is likely Friday afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will be cold enough for the snow to stick. Through the afternoon about 2 inches is expected for much of the area. Another inch or so is expected Friday evening.

South of the St. Louis metro area, temperatures aloft may be a bit warmer and there is a chance for mixed precipitation or freezing rain.
Road conditions will need to be monitored closely.
We will catch a nice break Saturday, with some sunshine and highs back into the lower to mid-30s. But Saturday night another quick moving system is expected to sweep through the area giving us another chance at light snow. Right now, another inch or so is possible overnight into early Sunday morning.
Of course, snowfall predictions may need to be adjusted over the next 12 to 24 hours so stay tuned to KSDK.com for updates.
