GRAFTON, Ill. — The Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair returns to Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, Illinois, for its 35th year on Saturday, June 10.
This is a free event offering an opportunity for the entire family to learn how to fish. Fishing poles, bait and supplies will be provided.
Enjoy more than 30 educational activities including a trout and bluegill pond so you can catch your own fish.
Look for a fetch-and-fish dog show, a 4,000-gallon aquarium, pros from Twisted Cat Outdoors, and Les and Keaton Standstipher, who are professional crappie fishermen and entertainers.
There’s also a Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show and Camo the Clown.
The setting is beautiful Pere Marquette State Park off the Great River Road in Grafton. Head north on IL-100N/Great River Road, turn right onto Graham Hollow Road and follow the signs.
The event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Pere Marquette State Park, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Other sponsors include Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery, Farm & Home Supply, State Farm and Walmart.
There is no charge to attend, and parking is free. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
No fishing license or gear is needed to participate.
