ST. LOUIS — This week is Show Me St. Louis Giving Week. All week long we've been highlighting different organizations that you can give to this holiday season. This Thursday morning, we are sharing a spotlight on KidSmart.
KidSmart's mission is to empower students in need by providing FREE essential tools for learning. KidSmart provides supplies all year long directly into classrooms via direct deliveries to schools, special teacher pick-up events, and scheduled teacher shopping days from our KidSmart Campus in Maryland Heights. KidSmart has been serving students and teachers for 23 years! There are over 90,000 students in the St Louis area that need support.
To shed light on their Light Up For Learning season which runs from November through January, our host Mary Caltrider sat down with the director of retail and programs, Ronnie Winterich.
The Light Up For Learning season launched on Giving Tuesday with the help of their sponsors. KidSmart was able to distribute over $1 million in supplies impacting over 30,000 students that week.
