ST. LOUIS — In early August, the weather broke just in time for the Alhambra Homecoming Parade. People from all over Madison County lined the streets to show support for their community.
"I grew up in Alhambra. It's just fun. I've run into people you haven't seen in a while," Alhambra Parade-goer, Tina Wuebbels said.
It happened on August 2nd, which turned out to be a beautiful Friday evening and this is not just any homecoming. Alhambra's got history.
"This is the 175th," one Alhambra Parade-goer said.
"I was born and raised here. And I came back. My mom still lives here. And so do all the neighbors," Alhambra Parade-goer, Dawn Schmidt said.
We saw a lot of tractors here.
Tractors of all shapes and sizes.
"It's a 1955 Oliver OC six. I'm driving for a friend of mine. It's his; it is rare," Alhambra Parade-goer, Bill Lyons said. Parade-goer Lorie Kaufman also chimed in "these red tractors are my dad's pride and joy. He died a few years ago. And he really liked him and we try to get them out as much as we can."
The 5+ Live Bus participated in the parade and people took notice!
Our summer tour continues with our parade partners at Scott Credit Union.
"And for me, personally, I love being involved in the community. So I'm so happy to work for a company that values that," Scott Credit Union Representative, Libbi Rogozienski said.
