The coming-of-age story takes the Catherine B. Berges Theatre stage on July 21 and 22.

ST. LOUIS — COCA’s 2023 Summer Musical and mainstage production, Pippin, a coming-of-age story that perfectly captures the teenage years of life and the search to find what fulfills us, takes the Catherine B. Berges Theatre stage on July 21 and 22.

This full-length, fully produced musical brings a fresh, modern-day view of this classic to tell the story of the quest to live an extraordinary life. Pippin seeks the secret of happiness in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of flesh, the predictability of the simple life, and the intrigue of political power.

For this production, adult professional performers and community members work alongside a few of COCA’s most advanced students. Pippin is directed by Shanara Gabrielle, and choreographed by Christopher Page-Sanders with music direction by Tre’von Griffith. Pippin is recommended for ages 14 and up.

Performances are July 21 at 7:00 p.m. and July 22 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $28–36. Tickets are on sale at cocastl.org.
