ST. LOUIS — It's the holiday season and while you're thinking of gifts to shop for this season consider the gift of adventure. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, motorcycle sales across the board are up 25 % since 2019. Andria Yu of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation joined Mary Caltrider to discuss tips on enjoying the gift of adventure. According to Andria Yu, for the motorcycle riders in your life there is some amazing new technology on the market. There are new helmets with unique safety features and various gadgets to make your existing gear more safe and enjoyable. They also offer incredible heated technology such as a hotwire heated jacket liner, heated gloves, socks, you name it.... they have thought of it! One additional note is there are now airbags for motorcyclists. Alpine Stars has an airbag jacket that detects when a crash is about to happen and it will deploy before the first impact, it actually reduces the impact force by 95 % for riders. A great idea for beginner riders in your life is the gift of training and off-road classes that begin at age 6 with dirt bike school. You can explore this fun for the whole family - check out www.RideWithUs.com This is just a sampling of ideas for kids getting involved in riding with their parents. Dirt bike classes are a fun gift and then next up your whole family can enjoy a ride out on a trail, enjoying the outdoors, and building family memories.
