Sponsored: Shriners Children's St. Louis surgeons are helping hands with 2-times the experience

The unique partnership between Dr. Lindley Wall and Dr. Charles Goldfarb offers patients and families the next level of care.

ST. LOUIS — At Shriners Children’s St. Louis, there are two doctors helping hands with the latest advances in pediatric hand and upper extremity care.

"We take care of pretty much the entire upper limb from shoulder to fingertips in kids. And so we do both dramatic injuries, fractures or lacerations. We do tendon injuries, nerve injuries for the entire arm hand," says Dr. Lindley Wall.

"If your child is born with something that makes them different than others, so extra bones, missing bones, abnormal fingers or arms, we take care of anything in that spectrum. We also take care of sports injuries of the upper extremity. So lots of different things. Basically, anything that's not normal about the arms, we take care of," says Dr. Charles Goldfarb.

The unique partnership between Dr. Lindley Wall and Dr. Charles Goldfarb offers patients and families the next level of care with two times the experience.

"We work really well together in the sense that we are pretty aligned in how we think about the care of children, and that's not always, you know, the case. So, we're pretty aligned," says Goldfarb.

Often in the operating room, while performing surgery together, they can minimize time under anesthesia as one surgeon operates on the right side while another operates on the left.

"If we didn't have that, then you would either have a surgery, that would take twice as long because you would work on one hand, and then have to move to the other side. Or you would have to do one surgery one day, and then the second hand on a different day, It really optimizes the time under anesthesia, which we know, for children in the developing brain, we try to minimize the amount of time they're asleep, to reduce those effects," says Wall.

It’s a partnership unlike any other at Shriners Children’s St. Louis.
