Sponsored: Midwest BankCentre, Kuna Food Service takeover Operation Food Search

The bank behind Impact Banking in St. Louis takes time away from the desk pack meals at Operation Food Search.

ST. LOUIS — Midwest BankCentre is committed to helping our region thrive, and that goes beyond banking. They teamed up with two long-standing clients for a day of service.

Employees from Midwest BankCentre and Kuna Food Service are taking time away from the desk to give back at Operation Food Search.

The Chief Operating Officer at Operation Food Search, Carlton Adams, says volunteers make their work possible.

"As a nonprofit, we rely a lot on volunteers. And it's not just the work, it's also the energy they bring to the project," said Adams.

And they sure brought energy while packing nutritious, kid-friendly foods for families of the greatest need in our area.

"You can see the collaboration behind us. We have a food provider, very much a for-profit organization with Kuna Foods. You have a bank, Midwest BankCentre, you have a nonprofit, Operation Food Search, but you see a common foundation here of giving back to communities," said Wes Burns, Executive Vice President of Community and Economic Development at Midwest BankCentre.

The need for food in our region remains urgent as people are struggling to catch up as a result of unemployment, utility bills, health care costs, inflation, and more. Dan Bippen of Kuna Food Services says they donate food regularly and routinely to Operation Food Search.

"We share that same commitment to the community as Midwest BankCentre. Operation Food Search obviously does a wonderful job filling that void for so many needs, and that's what we like about giving back to the community," Bippen said.

Midwest BankCentre prides itself on creating a positive social impact on the community through banking. The common value is a big reason Operation Food Search chose to bank with them.

"Partners like Midwest BankCentre that are focused on the community and community banking are critical to our success," Adams said.

It aligns with Midwest BankCentre’s strategy of Impact Banking, which is creating positive social influence through their work.

"Midwest BankCentre is the bank behind Impact Banking in St. Louis. The premise of Impact Banking is formulating a way for institutional depositors investors, and everyday customers to deposit into our Impact Banking product offering with the intention of ensuring that we are making reasonable financial accessible capital available throughout the region of St. Louis in every zip code and every home," Burns said.
