ST. LOUIS — Last year was quite the season of high school football and some friendly competition between local high schools. 18 schools competed to tackle hunger by collecting non-perishable food donations throughout the months of September and October.
Tackle Hunger exceeded their goal last year and had grand total of 68,722 pounds of food donated. Columbia High School and Freeburg Community High School were the top two schools with the most donations. The total donations equaled $120,470.50 which provided quality nutrition to 17, 388 people.
