SWANSEA, Ill. — It's that time of year again! You might be starting the holiday shopping, and it can get expensive.

Meet Sophie Ysursa. Sophie is 14 years old. She loves dogs, her mom, and cardinal Glennon.
"Cardinal Glennon has literally and figuratively saved my life," she said.
When Sophie was thirteen she noticed a pain in her. Sophie's inability to lift her arm during archery and swim team events prompted her worried mother, Jessica, to consult Sophie's doctor. The x-ray results revealed something serious, and their fears were confirmed when her doctor suggested orthopedic oncologist Dr. Greenberg at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. Sophie's diagnosis of osteosarcoma, localized to her left arm.
"I then received nine months of chemotherapy and an arm surgery where they removed the tumor and replaced it with an arm prosthetic," she said.
Today, Sophie is celebrating!
It’s her pup Brady’s birthday, as of April 4th. she is officially cancer free, and she’s shopping at Muttley & Me, just one of the over 340 businesses participating in the annual Glennon Card program.

Muttley & Me owner, Jason Keck, said "It's super exciting to really see what the card helps with."
Since 2011, the Glennon Card has raised more than $2.3 million. Proceeds have gone toward numerous improvements to the hospital’s facilities, such as new furnishings for waiting areas, lifesaving equipment, patient programs and so much more.
"Stores like this that are willing to help out kids like me just are automatically my favorite stores," Sophie said.
Sophie is the face of the 2023 Glennon Card.
