ST. LOUIS — Looking to take a nice walk or run through Forest Park on a nice, crisp fall day? SSM Health Cardinal Glennon is hosting their annual Sun Run on October 15. The Sun Run is a 5k/1 mile event presented by Walgreens and gives an opportunity for the hospital's staff and patient families to come together and do something that is energizing, fun, and healthy. It allows runners and walkers an opportunity to take in the views of nature in Forest Park while helping to raise funds for the hospital.
Thursday morning, Laura Wulf, the Ambassador Relations Manager for Cardinal Glennon's Children's Foundation, sat down with our host, Mary Caltrider, to discuss the event and what families can expect.
There will be a special area called the Runners' Village that will be filled with plenty of family-friendly activities and games; such as a DJ, face painting, balloon artists, and more. The staff will also have a special section on tents in the Runners' Village reserved for teams that raise $5,000 or more.
This year's theme is Running for a Future Deserved. Supporting the Sun Run gives kids in our community access to the healthcare they need to continue pursuing their passions and dreams.
Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. Admission will also get you your very own Sun Run t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses, and access to all of the activities in Runners' Village during and after the run.
