Taylor Louderman takes the Muny stage for "Chess".

ST. LOUIS — Check Mate! Chess has made it’s move to St. Louis and onto the Muny Stage!

Based in the 1980s, the pop rock musical reflects the Cold War tensions of the US and Soviet Russia. There’s a love triangle. There’s a chess championship. And of course, there’s the talented performers coming from near and far to bring the art of live theatre to our city.

Like Taylor Louderman , who plays Svetlana Sergievskaya in Chess.

Taylor has an impressive list of credits from Television to Broadway! First starring in the role of Regina George in Mean Girls on Broadway for which she received the Tony nomination for Best Actress. But still, she is no stranger to the Muny

"I grew up here. I grew up in a small town about an hour southwest on 44 and would come into the Muny. I was Muny teen and since then have done shows in the ensemble and principal roles. And it just feels like home,"  Louderman said.

And this time, home looks a little different as she takes on the stage with her talented castmates. The STL native shares this show and these people really are magical.

"I was sitting in there waiting, you know, watching my cast mates rehearse and brought to tears by the by the number they were doing. It was just so simple and heartfelt. And so if that can arouse you, then, gosh, the big production numbers are going to just blow you away," Louderman said.

Don’t miss out on the Muny Magic! You can catch Chess until July 11th.
