ST. LOUIS — This morning Mary Caltrider spoke with The Muny President and CEO, Kwofe Coleman, to discuss the exciting new Muny production of Dreamgirls which opens tonight on The Muny stage and runs through July 3rd. As Coleman noted, Dreamgirls is a show that moves fast with fantastic music. It is the story of an all-girl Motown singing group that follows their path from obscurity to superstardom in the '60s and '70s. This production of Dreamgirls at The Muny has a stellar cast led by Tiffany Mann, Aisha Jackson, and Courtnee Carter who play the all-girl Motown trio.
Performances are nightly at 8:15 p.m. and the running time of this particular show is 2 hours and 27 minutes including one intermission. It is a show you won't want to miss!
Coleman mentioned Dreamgirls will have a special guest performing a walk-on role for three nights during the Dreamgirls run. Coleman revealed this special guest is none other than Mayor of St. Louis, Tishaura Jones.
