Sponsored: UnitedHealthcare shares tips for keeping Medicaid coverage in Missouri

Federal requirements are changing for Medicaid.

ST. LOUIS — More than 1.4 million people in Missouri are enrolled in Medicaid as of February 2023 – an increase of 61% since February 2020.

Increases in enrollment were largely driven by the unprecedented pandemic-related job losses and measures taken to keep people enrolled during the health emergency. The Public Health Emergency, or PHE, allowed more people in Missouri to enroll, and stay enrolled, in Medicaid than ever before.

Now that federal requirements are changing, it may be time to renew your Medicaid coverage, so you don’t risk losing it. With the end of the federal mandate requiring states provide continuous coverage to Medicaid enrollees during the PHE, approximately 200,000people in MO could risk losing access to health insurance if they don’t renew their coverage.

Jamie Bruce is the Chief Executive Officer for the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Missouri. Wednesday morning, Bruce joined Mary to share more on the new requirements and how to avoid losing coverage. Take a look!
