Tuesday morning, Dr. Cheryl Watkins, the President and CEO of YWCA Metro St. Louis, joined us live in the studio to share some amazing news. The YWCA is celebrating 120 years of service!
YWCA Metro St. Louis provides a variety of crucial services for women and their families, including providing safe housing for victims of domestic and sexual abuse. Their mission is to eliminate racism and empower women.
YWCA offers a 24/7 Crisis hotline at (314) 531-7273, where you can speak with trained professionals anytime for immediate assistance. You can also stop in at their drop-in center at 1155 Olivette Executive Pkwy.
You can also be a part of the movement and the celebration. YWCA is hosting its 2nd Annual 24-Hour Campaign starting April 17 at 2 p.m. It's a fundraiser where friends of YWCA reach out to their contacts via text, email, and social media to ask for donations to help support, while also spreading the word about their services and impact on the St. Louis community. They are asking for your help to raise $120,000 in honor of their 120 years of service.
You can also join in on the celebration. On Thursday, May 2 from 5-8 p.m., the YWCA will celebrate 120 years with a party at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. Celebrate history while also enjoying music, hors d'oeuvres and more. Tickets are on sale now.
