ST. LOUIS — The Angels first baseman Albert Pujols ripped a solo home run to left field against Detroit Thursday afternoon, driving in his 2,000th run of his career.
The former Cardinals slugger is one of just three players in Major League history to do this, joining Hank Aaron (2,297) and Alex Rodriguez (2,087).
The Los Angeles Angels posted Pujols' home run along with Fox Sports: MLB, Fox Sports and USA Today.
The closest active player behind Pujols is Miguel Cabrera with 1,649 RBIs.
The Angels had a strong performance overall ending the game with a 13-0 win against the Tigers at Comerica Park on May 9 in Detroit, Michigan.
