COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III announced has declared for the 2025 National Football League Draft.

The decision means he will not play for the Tigers in their bowl game. Bowl matchups will be announced on Dec. 8.

Burden made the announcement via Instagram, thanking head coach Eli Drinkwitz, his teammates and supporters.

"While this decision is a step toward my professional future, it is by no means the end of my relationship with Mizzou. I will always carry a piece of this university with me, and I will continue to represent Mizzou with pride as I pursue my dreams," the post said in part.

The wide receiver played for East St. Louis High School before joining the Tigers in 2022.

In his three-year career with Mizzou, he recorded 2,263 receiving yards, 25 touchdowns (21 receiving and 4 rushing) and 192 receptions. He helped the Tigers to a Cotton Bowl win over Ohio State in 2023 and a combined 20-5 record the past two seasons.

The 2025 NFL Draft will be April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
