ST. LOUIS — One of the best rivalries in college basketball is back in St. Louis again this season.
The Missouri Tigers and the Illinois Fighting Illini will face off at the Enterprise Center on Dec. 22 in the 43rd rendition of the rivalry matchup. Tickets for the game are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
Since the game came to St. Louis in 1980, Illinois leads the series 26-16. The game was played at Checkerdome/St. Louis Arena from 1980 to 1993 before moving to its current home in 1994.
The only Braggin' Rights game to take place outside of St. Louis over that stretch of time was the 2020 matchup, which was played at Mizzou Arena without fans in attendance after Mizzou won a coin toss.
Missouri has won four of the last five Braggin' Rights games, including a 93-71 win last year.
The Tigers are 5-2 on the season after picking up a win of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Illinois is 5-1 on the season and is currently ranked No. 24 in the Associated Press coaches poll. Their lone loss was to No. 4 Marquette earlier this month.
Both teams made the NCAA Tournament last year. Illinois was knocked out in the first round with a loss to Arkansas while Missouri was eliminated by Princeton, a 15-seed, in the second round.
Mizzou has another rivalry matchup on the schedule in December. On Dec. 9, the Tigers will head to Allen Fieldhouse to take on longtime rival Kansas. Mizzou hasn't beaten Kansas since 2012, when both teams were still in the Big 12 conference. The rivalry resumed in 2021 after a nine-year hiatus.
