Here's where the Mizzou Tigers land in the first CFP rankings

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri is ranked in the season's first College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday night.

Mizzou came in at No. 12 in the College Football Playoff Top 25 poll, the first of six rankings this season. 

The Tigers are currently No. 14 in the AP Top 25 poll and are off to its best start (7-1) to a season since 2013. The team will face No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Athens.

The final rankings will be released on Dec. 3, after the conference championship games. The top four teams will head to the playoff field with semifinals at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl before the national championship game on Jan. 8 in Houston.

This year will be the final season of the four-team format before the playoff expands to 12 next season.
