Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Corey Dickerson has had better weeks as a major league baseball player.
On Saturday, Dickerson attempted a head first dive into third base at Wrigley Field, and... it didn't go so great.
Dickerson's face plant ended up giving him a bloody scrape on his nose and probably a hit to his pride as well.
Dickerson and his bloody nose showed up in St. Louis on Monday, and his week did not improve.
His error on a ball hit by Tyler O'Neill to left field in the first inning gave the Cardinals their first run of the series.
Then, later in game one, Dickerson appeared to have tracked down a deep fly ball by Paul Goldschmidt, but it ended up bouncing off his glove on the warning track. Goldschmidt was given a generous double on the play.
The last few days have literally added insult to injury for the Pirates' outfielder.
