ST. LOUIS — Just in time for tonight’s game, the Cardinals have announced that they have activated pitcher Adam Wainwright from the 10-day injured list.

The right-hander will get the start in tonight’s series finale against Miami. He exited his last outing at Chicago on June 9 with a left hamstring strain in the 5th after hurting it during his at-bat in the previous inning.

Wainwright is 5-6 with a 4.46 ERA this season.

Wainwright wasn’t the only move as the team optioned right-handed pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon to Memphis (AAA). In his third start of the season last night, Ponce de Leon led the Cardinals to a 2-1 win over the Marlins pitching six scoreless innings.

The ballclub also removed infielder Yairo Munoz from the paternity list and placed him on the restricted list due to travel delays in his return to St. Louis.
