Cardinals' Lars Nootbaar ejected in Tuesday night's game

Lars Nootbaar was ejected in the bottom of the first inning after he was called out on strikes.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Cardinals' outfielder Lars Nootbaar was ejected from Tuesday night's game versus the Baltimore Orioles.

Nootbaar was ejected in the bottom of the first inning after arguing balls and strikes from the dugout in the middle of Paul Goldschmidt's at-bat. He was called out on strikes prior to Goldschmidt's at-bat.

The 26-year-old and manager Oli Marmol confronted home plate umpire Mike Estabrook after the ejection. Cardinals coach Daniel Descalso also came out from the dugout and restrained Nootbaar.

This was Nootbaar's first career ejection. Dylan Carlson replaced him in right field.
